Winter beekeeping
Now that the cold weather has set in it's time to start working on new wooden ware. When I first started beekeeping I wanted to make every part of the setup myself. After making hive bodies, inner/outer covers, bottom boards and a couple hundred frames I decided to focus on the parts that were most cost effictive.
Now I stick to making bottom boards and hive covers. I can't seem to get lumber cheap enough to justify my time on hive bodies and frames are a ton of work. The 8 screened bottom boards above only took a couple of hours to make and best of all cost far less than buying them!
